As a picture story, the images in the book have been created around the country of the Virgin Mary, The Emerald Isle and the Island of Love and Beauty. These images, all the more intensified by the importance of time, were taken at the dawn of the new millennium, a time when the world and the magic of it’s light shone all the more brightly with hope for the future. Both the images and the words written in a Joycean flow of consciousness are designed to uplift the reader and to comprehend the need to bridge the spiritual and material worlds, the invisible and the visible and show what is truly meaningful when seen through the magic of light. |

Peter Holmes Sellers has been described as "one of the UK’s most cutting edge photographers" by Hotshoe International for his images taken in Hungary in 1992. Consequently, Peter was commissioned to narrate a photographic story to an international audience of the planned 1996 Budapest World Expo, "communication for a better world". This photographic story was shown as a solo exhibition in the Budapest History Museum in the Royal Palace over Christmas 1994 and is both the inspiration and at the heart of the book. |

"I was moved by the palpable beauty and energy of the people and place in particular Budapest and I felt I could show this to a wider audience by taking pictures and that was the start of my photographic odyssey woken by a full moon over the river Danube and the Royal Palace streaming into my hotel room early one morning in February 1989. Seventeen years later 'The Magic of Light' is complete. |
